**The Opportunity**:
The Building Maintenance Worker is a crucial member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of City of Red Deer facilities. Reporting to the Facilities Management Supervisor and Building Operator, this role focuses on predictive and preventative maintenance to minimize reactive measures and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all occupants.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a 5th Class Power Engineering certification or trade ticket in electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, instrumentation, plumbing, or millwright.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance within similar facilities.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, heating, cooling, and plumbing systems maintenance and repair.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, shop manuals, and schematic drawings.
- Skilled in operating power and hand tools.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact courteously with supervisors, colleagues, and building users.
- Physical capability to exert moderate effort, work at heights, and in varied environmental conditions.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards, with the ability to implement appropriate safety procedures.
- Valid Alberta Driver's License and basic understanding of WHMIS.

**Remuneration**:
$34.04 to $35.83 per hour.

**Hours of Work**:
80 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
