for a clinician position in Equine Internal Medicine who will join a dynamic medicine team composed of 3 professors,
equine hospital (CHUV) including: anesthesiology, ophthalmology, medical imaging, surgery, theriogenology. The
FMV is located in Saint-Hyacinthe, the agricultural capital of Quebec. The FMV is located 60 km (37 miles) from
Montreal, a vibrant city with an international airport and excellent flight connections to Europe, the USA.

With 1900 horses admitted annually, our Equine Hospital is the most attended in Canada. It is equipped with the
most modern facilities and equipment including 40 stalls, an intensive care unit, 3 surgical rooms and an imaging department with 1.5T MRI, fluoroscopy and a new CT scan. Its modern facilities and equipment account for the
number as well as the diversity of cases treated referred by veterinarians from Quebec, Eastern Ontario and some

**As a clinician, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the Faculty of Veterinary**
**Medicine**:
Through your clinical teaching (for a maximum of 90% of your task) and through tasks relating to the influence of
your discipline, research activities and the functioning of the institution (for a minimum of 10% of your task). As such,
you will have to:

- ** **Participate in clinical teaching, among other things, by providing care and services that meet the different
needs of the internal Medecine service at the equine hospital;
- ** **Supervise students in undergraduate residents, internships and students in graduate programs;
>** **Evaluate student learning;
>** **Provide educational advice and assistance to students;
>** **Participate in evening and weekend on call.

**To be successful in the role, you must have:
**- ** **Hold a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent;
>** **Have successfully completed a residency in Equine Internal Medicine and be a diplomate of the American

College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or be eligible to obtain it;
- ** **Demonstrate interest and aptitude for teaching and clinical activity
>** **Obtain a license to practice veterinary medicine in the province of Quebec (Canada) issued by the Ordre des

médecins vétérinaires du Québec;
>** **An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language **or** a strong commitment to mastering

the proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal’s Language Policy. An institutional
learning support program is offered to all professors wishing to learn French or improve their communication
skills.
