**SUMMARY**

Native Women's Association of Canada is a National Indigenous Organization representing the political voice of Indigenous women, girls and gender-diverse people in Canada, inclusive of First Nations on and off reserve, status and non-status, disenfranchised, Métis and Inuit. They were founded on the collective goal to enhance, promote and foster the social, economic, cultural and political well-being of Indigenous women within their respective communities and Canada societies.

The Native Women's Association of Canada (NWAC) is seeking an experienced Store Assistant to assist customers in locating products and making purchases at our Promenade du Portage location in Gatineau. This business is part of a social innovation project and capacity building project to foster economic development of Indigenous Women in Canada and abroad through the sale of art, crafts and gift items from across Canada and the world. The Store Assistant - Artisanelle Store is responsible for greeting customers, addressing any of their questions or concerns regarding the articles sold in store. The Store Assistant ensures the store’s appearance aligns with the NWAC’s standards and keeps shelves and displays well stocked and orderly.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Store Assistant will be responsible to:

- Greet and assist customers in a friendly manner and help them with their inquiries.
- Answer customer questions regarding merchandising, pricing and promotions.
- Making sure all inventory is processed, priced, and put away.
- Assist customers with finding the right product.
- Ensure store conditions are consistently upheld to company standards.
- Complete sales by accepting payment while ensuring the accuracy of the transactions.
- Monitoring inventory levels.
- Managing electronic commerce platform Shopify, adding pictures, recording items, creating barcode.
- Follow up orders online, processing shipping labels and packing.
- Update Art inventory in the platform.
- Work with the Store Manager to devise ways to maximize store sales.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Completion of high school and College/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
- Must have extensive experience in the retail business.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in the retail industry.
