The Lifesaving and First Aid Instructor/Examiner teaches and examines specific course content, using Lifesaving Society and YMCA equipment, resources and materials. Instructors develop course lesson plans that incorporate different learning styles.

**In this role, you will**:

- Ensure all safety and lifesaving procedures are adhered to
- Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and able to respond accordingly
- Deliver course content and examines participants following established Lifesaving Society criteria
- Plan, organize and implement course lesson plans
- Recognize participant learning styles and deliver content accordingly
- Coach and develop participants to meet success
- Ensure qualifications and certifications as required
- Actively participate in scheduled programs, meetings and special events
- Understand the legal responsibilities and moral imperative to report suspected child abuse to Children's Aid Society
- Understand the importance of the volunteer staff partnership and integrates the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in dealings with members, volunteers, donors and staff
- Perform other related duties to fulfill commitment

**You bring**:

- Current **Instructor & Examiner** Certifications in one of the following streams: National Lifeguard, First Aid and/or Bronze
- Previous experience Instructing Lifesaving Courses an asset
- Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
- This role has flexible work hours
