**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Director, Communications & Digital Engagement in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD), the International Recruitment Officer will plan and implement AMPD's recruitment, admissions, conversion, and communications strategy for international students and key stakeholders within and outside of Ontario. The International Recruitment Officer will act as the primary contact for all prospective international students interested in AMPD and will be responsible for guiding international students through the entire recruitment cycle. The International Recruitment Officer will deliver recruitment presentations, develop and coordinate targeted events and engagement programs, conduct market research, identify and build relationships with education, community, and industry partners worldwide, contribute to program development and positioning, as well as track, measure and report on results. The International Recruitment Officer must maintain familiarity with AMPD's suite of programs. The International Recruitment Officer must collaborate with the Communications & Public Affairs Division (C&PA), the Division of Students (VPA), York International (YI), and the York University English Language Institute (YUELI) to raise awareness and visibility of AMPD international recruitment initiatives and ensure that all AMPD activities and processes are aligned with University strategies and objectives.

**Education**:
University degree required. Creative, Performance, Digital, and/or Media arts education preferred or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
2 years recent (as defined within the last 5 years) related experience such as educational liaison in an academic environment, making effective presentations and/or public speaking, program/project administration, etc., including marketing, sales, advising/counselling, and answering detailed/complex enquiries in a student or customer service area. Previous experience and familiarity with Creative, Performance, Digital, and Media Arts is preferred. International engagement experience required. Experience with international student recruitment and experience working with CRM and other systems would be an asset.

**Skills**:

- Demonstrated skills/abilities in the following areas:

- Secondary schools' liaison (student recruitment) and international engagement experience
- Experience attending in-person and online events/fairs
- Knowledge of Ontario university system admissions criteria, university programs, and strong familiarity with Canadian and international educational systems
- Advising/counselling skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly for identifying trends in markets, generating original ideas and innovative solutions
- Working effectively in a team environment
- Effective relationship building
- Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural issues and public relations skills to elicit accurate information and answer detailed and/or complex enquires in a clear and concise manner
- Tact and diplomacy essential
- Training and overseeing the work of others
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to make effective presentations and respond to detailed enquiries
- Exercising good judgement, initiative and creative problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills including ability to work independently, meet deadlines, coordinate a number of projects/programs simultaneously in response to changing/conflicting priorities
- Attending accurately to detail and working effectively under pressure of high volume
- Maintaining confidentiality
- Valid 'G' driver's license in good standing with proven good driving record (abstract required) and have access to a reliable vehicle requiredTechnical Skills
- Intermediate skills with MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Introductory skills in MS Access and CRM systems with the ability to run queries from an established database
- Adept at learning new technology programs, social media skills.
