- Come and be a part of this success- About Potash- The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.- Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. - Work Location- Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.- Purpose- Reporting to the Manager Finance Business Partnership Potash, the Principal Finance Business Partnership is focused on delivering value-maximizing opportunities and providing financial advice supporting the execution of the Jansen potash asset as well as guiding the strategy for BHP’s Potash Business.- About the Role- in this role, you will:
- Identifies, engages, and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders when it comes to Jansen project execution and Potash Business activities
- Translates business objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing, and analyzing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate delivery of our potash strategy
- Applies a commercial mindset to influence optimal business outcomes
- Builds strong stakeholder relationships both at practitioner and senior levels, influencing people with different agendas to adopt new concepts and different ways of working
- Develops and coaches Jansen project workstreams, ensuring value-enhancing outcomes are delivered in accordance with the schedule and budget
- As required, develops risk mitigation tactics as they relate to the execution of the Jansen asset and development of the Potash Business
- Supports the performance objectives related to the execution of the Jansen asset and Potash Business
- Supports the Potash Finance team’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, health & safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development
- About You- Minimum 8 years experience in either Financial Reporting or Accounting roles
- Proven ability to influence others, solve complex problems, and proactively identify opportunities based on a deeper understanding and knowledge base
- Major project experience within the mining industry is preferred
- 1SAP system knowledge and experience is preferred
