**What are we looking for?**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Manufacturing, International Commerce, or related field
- 5-8 years Import, Export, Trade & Compliance, Shipping / Logistics experience
- Thorough understanding of domestic and international barriers to trade governing import/export activities
- Proven experience in building cross-functional relationships to create awareness and ensure compliance is implemented
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (with emphasis in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and strong computer skills
- Experiencing in building and managing governmental relationships
- Proven knowledge of USDA and CFIA regulations pertaining to pet food exports, Phytosanitary Certificates, and Certificates of Origin
- Customs brokers license preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of regulations for import/export of animal origin and grain materials

**What will be your key responsibilities?**:

- Work with Global, Regional Import/ Export/ Trade Compliance Units to ensure Royal Canin’s processes are compliant and effectively move product throughout the regional and global markets.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Commercial, global Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to set the strategic direction while ensuring tactical activities are completed within full compliance and alignment with the strategy.
- Accountable for the proper filing and retention of all import/ export records and documents as per regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure effective compliance with applicable import/export regulatory requirements and the effective movement of goods and products across country borders.
- Ensure that all product flow meets international trade compliance requirements and that document controls are in place to support trade compliance.
- Work with manufacturing sites and global teams to ensure trade requirements are met to establish new trade lanes.
- Lead the standardization of reoccurring practices by establishing standard operation procedures and creating and updating training materials.
- Ensure all regional employees associated with trade compliance and supply chain operations are trained and accountable.
- Provide governance of internal processes, including auditing factories and warehouses for proper trade compliance procedures and paperwork.
- Work closely with Mars customs compliance team
- Primary contact with USDA and CFIA to consult on international regulations
- Represent Royal Canin in trade associations efforts related to trade compliance and market access.
- Effectively manage issues and/or risks with stakeholders.
