**THE ROLE - ASSISTANT CONTROLLER**

Waste Logic is in growth mode - we offer you the opportunity to grow and take that next step in your career. You are a strategic finance partner who wants to be part of the business solution and is looking for new professional challenges and an increased level of responsibility. For the past 5 years you have developed a broad range of finance and accounting skills. Working in partnership with the Director of Finance, you bring your diverse skill set to a Finance team that is evolving.
- Motivate and lead the team - provide direction, establish goals, provide technical insight, mentorship
- Oversee/execute accounting functions -GL’s, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, credits, financial statements
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures to control and manage business risks
- Maintain annual operating budget, updating monthly
- Lead the preparation / analysis of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Prepare year-end documents for external accounting firm
- Oversee the administration of payroll, and associated deductions.

**EXPERIENCE**
- 5+ years’ experience in an accounting / bookkeeping position
- 2+ years’ experience leading a team in a fast paced & diverse department
- Experience in the design and implementation of financial and business processes / systems
- Knowledge and experience with full-cycle bookkeeping
- Strong technical efficiency in Sage 50c, QuickBooks or similar.
- Microsoft Office software (advanced excel expertise, word, PowerPoint, outlook)
- Track record of personal development to build professional and leadership skills

**EDUCATION**
- Diploma in Accounting. CPA designation (or in progress)
