CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you We are currently searching for a **Coordinator, Youth Recreational and Leisure Activities** Reporting to the Program Lead, Children and Youth Engagement (Ontario East), the Coordinator, Youth Recreational & Leisure Activities will support program staff running in person and/or virtual summer camps. The Coordinator, Youth Recreational and Leisure Activities will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of summer programs for children and youth that experience vision loss. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

- Research and arrange activities with third party organizations, recreational groups, and guest speakers.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of all children and youth in-person day programming as requested.
- Ensure participants have all necessary materials in preferred format.
- Assist in the recruitment of volunteers for summer camps and coordinate volunteer orientation session as well as required materials.
- Arrange and accompany participants on day trips.
- Provide ongoing support to participants in a mentoring role.
- Manage Zoom meetings including opening sessions, coordination of participants and monitoring of break out rooms as required.
- Assist in providing supervision for individuals participating in programs as assigned.
- Demonstrate assistive technology, including Voiceover and various apps for iPhone and iPad (instruction is provided).

**Requirements**:
**Who you are**:

- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good social media and computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Zoom.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
- Demonstrates mature and sensitive nature when dealing with the needs of persons experiencing sight loss.
- Knowledge of not-for-profit community resources is an asset.
- Working knowledge of technical aids and devices for people with vision loss is an asset.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to travel independently within the region via public transit or car (taxi, Uber etc.).

**We want to hear from you if you have**:

- Experience working with the general public.
- University or community college student preferred.
- Related Fields of Study include social services, health studies, child and youth studies, disability studies, administration, communications, technology, customer service.
- Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
- Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment,
- Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

**Work Environment**:

- Ability for in-person/office work OR virtual as required by circumstance.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Occasional travel within the region.
