North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a temporary Full-time Communication Disorders Assistant (CDA).

complex continuing care populations under the supervision and guidance of the Speech-Language Pathologist,

both in a one-on-one and group settings.

**RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE**:

- Supporting the recommendations made by supervising SLP regarding speech, language, and swallowing

programming, screening, strategies, resources, and modifications for the patient and their families.
- Following established screening protocols, documenting responses accurately without interpretation

beyond pass/fail and determining if the patient requires further assessment
- Developing patient-centred therapy materials;
- Providing evidence -based therapy intervention
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the intervention response, and progress toward patient-centred goals.

**QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE**:
Communication Disorders Assistant Diploma or other relevant courses

1-2 years of experiences with adults is preferred; but new grads are welcome to apply

Member of CDAAC preferred;
Current B.C.L.S. certificate required;

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment required;
Strong case management skills and ability to work in a high-paced environment;
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required;
Excellent oral and written communication skills required;
Computer competency required;
Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers,

and visitors;
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this

organization;

and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual

Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check recent within six (6) months is a requirement

North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) is a unique health care organization with three primary roles: providing

acute care services to North Bay and its surrounding communities, functioning as the district referral centre providing

specialist services for smaller communities in the area, and it’s the specialized mental health service provider serving all

of northeast Ontario. At more than 400 beds, our state-of-the-art regional health centre has over 150 physicians, 2300

employees and 250 volunteers.
