**Summary**

The Sprinkler Fitter, under the direction of the Mechanical Director, is primarily responsible for fitting pipes, specifically on sprinkler systems. The incumbent designs and installs sprinkler systems, hose systems, fire mains and underground systems. The Sprinkler Fitter tests and troubleshoots systems for issues or leaks.

**Job Duties**
- Install overhead sprinkler systems, hose systems, fire mains, underground systems, etc., in accordance with building and fire codes
- Test installed systems
- Repair any defective, worn or broken system parts
- Select correct pipe size and required materials as per design specifications
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting
- Fit and prepare pipes
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, etc.
- Fabricate and weld pipes and attach to fixtures
- Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping and sprinkling systems
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps and compressors
- Help complete preventive maintenance for sprinkler systems
- Clean, maintain and update current sprinkler systems
- Test and troubleshoot systems for leaks using testing equipment
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Time management skills
- Mathematical and analytical skills necessary for pipefitting
- Ability to read building specifications and blueprints
- Ability to work well independently or as a member of a team

**Qualifications**:

- Working with tools, pipes and materials
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs.
- Proper use of personal protection equipment (e.g., hard-hat, safety boots, etc.)
- Ability to identify hazards associated with the industry

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: $18.50-$29.60 per hour

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Apprentice Sprinkler Fitter: 2 years (preferred)
- Residential Sprinkler Fitter: 2 years (preferred)
- Commercial Sprinkler Fitter: 2 years (preferred)
- Industrial Sprinkler Fitter: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Drivers Licence (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 75% (preferred)
