STATUS: This is a regular full-time position

HOURS OF WORK: 08:30 - 16:30 - Monday to Friday

POSITION START DATE: As soon as possible

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

SALARY RANGE: $ 60,427 - $ 83,086.30

LOCATION: BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, Vancouver, BC.

ORGANIZATION: The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV/AIDS Centre with innovative, low barrier approach to healthcare delivery in clinical practice and an integrated group of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs. A multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Peers and researchers including Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV and communities facing socio-economic barriers in accessing healthcare.

JOB:
The Privacy and Policy Coordinator assists in the administration of the BC-CfE’s Privacy program, coordinating privacy team meetings, facilitating the intake of access requests, managing incident documentation, and administering the Privacy Education program. In addition, the Privacy and Policy Coordinator collaborates with partners to develop, update and maintain organization wide policy (including in the Occupational Health and Safety area) and tracks organizational policy implementation and renewal.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assists in drafting privacy contracts including Information Sharing Agreements, Information Sharing Plans, Terms of Services, Memorandum of Understandings, and Confidentiality Agreements that govern the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information.
- Administers the Privacy Education Program including liaising with HR, scheduling sessions, providing surveys and collating responses, and administrative tasks in developing content.
- Provides support in the drafting of Privacy Impact Assessments and other privacy reviews
- Completes incident reports and maintains incident logs. Provides summaries and memos regarding incidents to aid in the development of policy, training and action plans to prevent future incidents.
- Assists with coordinating internal and external data access requests. Develops, updates and maintains data access request trackers, forms and process documents. Tracks ethics and consent form privacy requirements for studies by collecting back-up source documentation.
- Coordinates Privacy Team meetings including scheduling, managing the agenda and coordinating minutes.
- Collaborates with partners to draft and develop BC-CFE-wide policy, manages the policy renewal cycle and otherwise tracks policy for implementation purposes.
- Sits on the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) committee.
- Performs other duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree in health administration, law or related discipline (e.g., social work, health research, information science etc.) and 1-3 years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Completion of an Information Access and/or Privacy Professional Certificate Program (i.e., CIPP/C, CIPT, CIPM, or CAPPA.) and healthcare/research or direct privacy experience are assets.

Knowledge and Abilities:

- Effective oral and especially written communication skills.
- Willing collaborator and team player.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
