Director, Schedule Management

The Director, Schedule Management will oversee the establishment and development of a Schedule Management function in support of all capital project delivery at Infrastructure Ontario (IO). The role will also be a key executive-level contributor to development of a team of Scheduling professionals.

To be successful in the role, the Director brings significant senior level experience in Planning, Scheduling and Claims management, as well as experience coaching, mentoring and leading a team of direct reports.

**What You Will Do**:

- Lead, develop and motivate a team of high-caliber professionals that provide high quality services, and build reputation as a reliable business partner.
- Oversee the establishment and development of a Schedule Management function in support of all capital project delivery. Provide functional expertise and a primary interface for schedule management matters within the Project Controls department.
- Oversee the overall development of project schedules in a manner that is consistent with, and seeks improvement upon current scheduling methodology.
- Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of consistent construction schedule management guidelines for P3 and non-P3 projects.
- Support the execution of quantitative risk assessments for schedule in a manner that is consistent with, and seeks improvement upon, proposed scheduling methodology.
- Liaise and work closely with the Commercial Resolutions Office (claims management) to transition schedule matters from pre-procurement and procurement phase to claims support and/or prevention of delay claims.
- Act as the primary custodian and monitor all template changes and tracking portfolio administration of Project Agreement and specifically Scheduling Requirements, providing ongoing recommendations as to its effectiveness and success in achieving risk transfer.
- Oversee and develop the development of construction phase schedule monitoring guidelines for project reporting and tracking.
- Be responsible for the monitoring and management of KPIs pertaining to capital project schedule performance.
- Provide functional leadership to a team that liaises between the applicable project team and the project controls and program management functions.
- Centralize the guidance and function of retaining third party Schedule Management Consultants in support, and throughout the lifecycle of, applicable capital projects.
- Be a key senior leadership-level contributor to development of staff at IO, rooted in IO’s value proposition, leadership development framework, and employee value proposition.
- Partner with Vice President of Capital Project Schedule Management to centralizing guidance and function of retaining and engaging third party Schedule Management Consultants in support, and throughout the lifecycle of, applicable capital projects.
- Planning, developing and maintaining the project Master schedule to meet the project objectives, schedule basis, managing the progress measurement and earned value, schedule reporting, schedule change implementation and developing and maintain the schedule management plan.

- Strong people leadership capabilities, including but not limited to, the ability to grow talent, empower performance, and promote and model a healthy and respectful workplace.
- Substantial progressive management experience in Planning, Scheduling and Claims Management in either the Construction Management, Engineering, or Project Management industry.
- Project Management, AACE, PMI, RICS, P.Eng are assets.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, highly developed communications skills, presentation skills and a proven track record of building positive relationships and effective partnerships.
- Senior level strategic project planning, development and implementation experience.
- Understanding of appropriate codes, standards and other guidelines related to the delivery of infrastructure projects.
- Expertise in quality management processes and oversight.
- Strong negotiation skills at the boardroom level, with an ability to find win-win solutions.
- Comprehensive Knowledge of Primavera, Microsoft Project, Tilos, Excel, Power BI and other relevant Scheduling software platforms.
