Climate Change Consultant

RWDI is seeking a dynamic individual to join its Sustainability team as a **Climate Change Consultant **preferably in our **Toronto** office but negotiable for any one of RWDI’s **North American** offices. This is a **full-time** permanent position.
**The role includes but is not limited to the following**:
- Advise clients across diverse and innovative decarbonization, climate change resiliency, and ESG projects.
- Utilize a systems approach and compile necessary data for integrating the relevant climate change considerations into the client’s asset management strategy
- Prepare compliance documentation for various net zero, ESG, and climate change disclosure programs.
- Develop climate action plans that describe projected climate impacts, quantify current and future greenhouse gas emissions, or identify strategies to build resiliency and reduce emissions.
- Work with team members and leaders to support client relationships and business development initiatives such as assisting with proposals, market research, and growing service offerings.
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in a relevant field from an accredited university
- Experience with sustainability, decarbonization, and climate change resilience projects or consulting on related issues
- Knowledge with ESG standards and programs
- Knowledge of decarbonization and carbon reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., Global Reporting Initiative, GHG Protocol, SBTi, TCFD, NZAM, SASB)
- Detailed knowledge of GHG emissions scopes
- Experience of most/all aspects of the GHG accounting (i.e., boundary setting, data collection and analysis, building the GHG inventory, producing and presenting the footprint results)
- Experience in life cycle analysis / embodied carbon calculations preferred
- Ability to assess information and clearly communicate key insights both orally and in written communications
- Strong project management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines
- Strong interest in sustainability, decarbonization, and climate change resilience
- Ability to problem solve and develop solutions when project requirements are ambiguous and evolving
- Demonstrated innovative, independent problem-solving methods/capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
