**About the role**
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a **regular full-time Associate Director, Employee Relations** to join our dynamic **Employee Relations team **in our** People, Culture and Performance division.**

The **Employee Relations team** is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services strategic goals by guiding clients’ navigation of a highly complex and regulated environment by balancing their head and heart to ensure operational excellence and foster a compelling and engaging and employee experience.

In this role, you will lead a team of dedicated labour relations professionals while working collaboratively across the organization to deliver best-in-class labour relations programs and services. You will oversee the execution of the labour relations practice at Canadian Blood Services, by providing leadership, direction, advice and guidance to collective agreement negotiators and the business partner team. You will oversee the execution of the organizational system for workplace dispute resolution and is responsible for ensuing all employment related policies, terms and conditions of employment, and guidelines are in accordance with the divisions framework, legally compliant and aligned with the corporate strategy, mission, vision, and values.

**Formula for success**
- In collaboration with the director, Employee Relations, and Business Partnerships, you will develop and implement a labour and employee relations strategy aligned to corporate strategy, mission, vision, and values.
- You will support the establishment of a national bargaining framework and mandate to minimize risk and enable implementation of corporate goals.
- Leveraging your proven experience and continuous growth mindset, you will ensure labour and employee relations practices and capabilities, and terms and condition of employment are legally compliant, continuously improved and aligned to corporate strategy, anticipated needs, best practices, and identified trends, gaps, and emerging issues.
- Utilizing your strong communication, and presentation skills, you will prepare reports, analyses, and presentations on employee and labour relations issues/ risk considerations for senior leaders, EMT and the board as required.
- Concentrating on your strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to build effective relationships, you will collaborate with senior leadership across divisions to identify employee and labour relations considerations, risks, and mitigation strategies to support projects and change initiatives.
- Under the direction of the Director, Employee Relations, and Business Partnerships and in collaboration with Managing Counsel, Labour, and Employment Law, you will oversee the execution of the organizational system for workplace dispute resolution.
- Focusing on your demonstrated experience assessing the needs of clients and working with a team to develop relevant services and programs, you will ensure a legally compliant and defensible framework to address workplace issues or concerns that considers the employee’s experience and protects the organization’s interests from litigation and risk.
- Drawing on your ability to lead and work collaboratively amongst a diverse team, you will support team members by providing counsel, coaching, feedback, and advice on a regular basis. Ensuring team members have clear expectations and performance plans, and appropriate development plans are in place to enable team members to enhance on-the-job performance. Evaluate team performance and work with team members to establish personal goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with both organizational and divisional strategic objectives.
