Description:
As a Service Worker II, you will be responsible for readying supplies, and cleaning/disinfecting instruments and specialty equipment for immediate use/reuse by healthcare staff. You will distribute and replenish patient care supplies, perform quality control tests on equipment and record maintenance data. You may also transport patients (clients/residents), equipment, lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required. In addition, you will ensure that patient care areas and other assigned areas are accurately stocked and that specialty equipment required by the healthcare staff is available.

**Required Qualifications**:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Current Alberta Heart & Stroke BLS Provider is required along with completion of Grade 12. Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in the English language. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and manage a fast paced, demanding environment that has shifting daily priorities. Due to the nature of the physically demanding duties, the incumbent must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining confidential information. Must be reliable, cooperative, and demonstrate a high level of flexibility. Previous training and/or experience working in an operating room is desirable. Preference will be given to those applicants that have experienced and knowledge of transporting patients and cleaning/restocking of operating rooms. Is aware of and follows WHS standards while performing duties in the work environment. Knowledge of body mechanics is an asset along with a true interest in health care and the desire to help others. Reporting concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to the Unit Managers
