**What would you be doing?**

This position involves designing and implementing training programs, overseeing compliance with industry standards, and promoting a culture of continuous learning, ethical conduct, and consistency. The role will also provide professional practice support and quality control for assurance engagements, maintain and update firm professional practice forms and manuals while assisting in the administration of professional development programs.

As a leader in our growing firm, you will report to the Partner of Standards and Training. You will be responsible to:

- Review of assurance financial statements, in accordance with the applicable reporting framework, prior to release
- Develop, update, and communicate internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the firm’s System of Quality Management, industry standards, and regulations.
- Train new hires on the System of Quality Management
- Assist in performing annual ongoing monitoring and testing of compliance with the Firm’s System of Quality Management
- Conduct regular reviews to identify areas for improvement in internal controls and processes related to file quality and assurance engagements.
- Aid in performing annual file level monitoring and compilation and communication of results.
- Work closely with HR, Team Leaders and key stakeholders as needed to design, develop, and execute inclusive, high quality, sustainable learning and development programs and solutions for staff at all levels across the Firm.
- Driving relevant Firm focused learning outcomes to meet organizational goals ensuring alignment with career paths, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external training providers, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
- Liaise with Baker Tilly Canada Professional Practice to leverage nationally produced professional practice resources and coordinate and communicate changes to Baker Tilly National templates, training, and standards to the firm.
- Stay current with changes in accounting and auditing standards, legal regulations, and professional ethics.
- Conduct new hire and current staff training sessions both in person/on site and virtually.
- Coordinate external sessions undertaken by partners and staff, including those organized by Baker Tilly National
- Administrator of Learning Management System
- Assist in coordinating Baker Tilly National peer file reviews and tri-annual CPA Ontario inspections.
- Assist in collating results of reviews and practice inspection and communicating findings to the partners.
- Assist in developing and implementing action plans that may arise from these reviews and inspections including re-training, as necessary, for the Firm.
- Maintenance of Baker Tilly Templates (CaseWare) and aid in rollout of new versions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- Canadian CPA, CA; or internationally trained accountant working towards the Canadian CPA designation
- Minimum 5 years post CPA/CA qualification experience with technical skills for accounting, auditing, and financial statement disclosures
