Calgary, Canada Halpern Akiva Academy Full time

As a Behavioral Educational Assistant at Halpern Akiva Academy, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioral challenges and helping them succeed academically and socially. You will work closely with teachers, special education professionals, and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioral challenges.
- Implement behavior intervention plans and strategies to address students' individual needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to modify and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assist in managing and monitoring classroom behavior to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
- Foster positive relationships with students and provide emotional support as needed.
- Document and report students' progress and behavior to the appropriate staff and parents.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor's degree or diploma in education, psychology, special education, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students overcome obstacles.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention techniques is a plus.
- CPR and First Aid certification may be required.
