**Job purpose**

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of all policies and procedures that form the Quality Management System to ensure that the business fulfils its requirements and the requirements of our customers.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

- Amend, review and update the documentation within the Food Safety and Quality Manual and the HACCP Manual.
- Interacts with regulatory personnel, food safety auditors, and customers to maintain positive and responsive relationships and ensure rapid corrective actions through dynamic leadership and timely documentation.
- Prepare, maintain and update the supplier audit plan and undertake the annual supplier monitoring review in conjunction with the Purchasing Department and manage non-conformances arising from supplier audits.
- Prepare, maintain and update the internal audit plan for the Quality Management System and ensure that all internal audits are undertaken, completed and closed within agreed timescales.
- Manage and support the internal audit team.
- Keep up-to date with all third-party requirements including BRC, IFS, Organic, and RSPO and arrange and manage all third-party audits and CFA visits.
- Ensure that all non-conformances arising from audits are verified and closed. This includes internal audits, customers audits, third party audits and CFA visits.
- Reviewing non-conformances from internal and external audits in order to identify areas of improvement.
- Undertake mock recall test annually.
- Participate in recalls, Traceability exercises when required.
- Manage customer visits or third-party audits.
- Manage Customer complaints investigations.
- Conduct risk assessments of potential new suppliers in conjunction with the Purchasing Department.
- Ensure that the Supplier List, and all the information necessary for monitoring them, is kept up to date and that all information such as SAQ's and third-party certification is valid.
- Provide training to employees as directed by Quality Director.
- Individual will be required to verify that the process steps are being followed, operators are completing checks as required and completing proper documentation including but not limited to the recording of lot numbers, line checks, recording deviations and corrective actions when required, label compliance, CCP Checks and proper labelling of WIP and other finished goods. Any deviations noted must be communicated to appropriate supervisor.
- Individual will be required to verify that product meets all required specifications for food safety (i.e. Appropriate employee handling)
- Individual will oversee process checks throughout the production, packaging, sanitation and warehouse functions of the company including GMP, metal detection, label and coding verification, general hygiene and safety, as well as in process and finished product weights and record on Quality audit report.
- The individual will be responsible for overseeing internal, external audits in compliance with appropriate requirements.
- Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
- Approve the vacation requests.
- Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Issue disciplinary action when needed.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow ood anufacturing ractices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**
- Experience in Food Safety in Manufacturing.
- Practical experience of HACCP.
