**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Daycare Manager to join our team. As a Daycare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the daycare staff in educating and caring for children in our daycare facility.
- Assist in managing day-to-day administrative operations of a gradually growing centre.
- Assist in developing and implementing daycare programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Lead, coach, and supervise daycare staff to ensure high-quality care and education for children as directed by the manager.
- Ensure compliance with provincial licensing regulations and standards for daycare centres.
- Assist in managing and coordinating age-appropriate activities and curriculum with staff that complies with provincial and federal requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the daycare center, such as curriculum, learning plans, enrolment, health and safety, etc.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's development and daily activities.
- Assist the manager in interviewing, hiring and training new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements as well as maintaining staff schedules.
- Assist the manager in evaluating and purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Handle emergencies with composure and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assume other duties as directed by daycare manager.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a childcare setting
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate (IT certification is an asset)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- Knowledge of BC Childcare Licensing Regulation
- Up-to-date Record of Immunizations
- Recent Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry clearance
- Two (2) Professional References

- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, critical thinking, and creative problem solving.
- Good organizational skills and time-management skills.
- Ability to relate to people from a wide range of backgrounds, understanding and valuing diversity.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor
- Maintenance of a professional appearance, attitude and work ethic always
- An ability to use technology such as MS Word and Excel, social media etc. and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
