**How will you make an impact?**

Perform general maintenance and repair work in the facility and site grounds. Provide support services to the office and operating areas with emphasis on improving ‘fit and finish’ for appearance, safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance. Perform tasks and duties intended to maintain the good condition and appearance of the facility and the site grounds to ensure the facility and operating modules are always inspection ready.

**What will you do?**
- Facility Appearance and Repair
- Repair and repaint damaged walls, doors, windows, floors and ceiling in office areas, GMP hallways, operating modules and packaging areas, warehouse, QA (Quality Assurance)/QC (Quality Control) lab areas, cafeteria and washrooms
- Repair cracks on the floors and replaces damaged and missing ceiling tiles in the office areas and operating areas.
- Repair, or in extreme cases, coordinate the repair of washrooms facilities.
- Set up offices for new employees in the office areas and set up shelves required in Documents & Parts storage areas.
- Coordinate with the Facility Cleaners, when required any special clean up preparation for audits by regulatory bodies and Clients.
- Facility Maintenance
- Assist with the weekly Pest Control inspection and follow up corrective actions.
- Perform the monthly inspection of the facility fire extinguishers and grease traps
- Investigate cause(s) of water leaks and contain; and arrange to repair roof leaks to prevent impacting on production.
- Arrange with in-house or contract resources the repair of doors (when required).
- Organize and secure office furniture and other necessary facility-related equipment so these are readily available when required.
- Provide uniforms to new plant employees.
- Assist in preparing the facility for special events, town halls, audits, meetings and customer visits.
- Track and monitor the movement of building maintenance external Contractors inside the facility during construction work.
- Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
- Perform alternating or rotating shift work as well as requirement to work during maintenance shutdowns.

**How will you get here**:
**Education**:
High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required

**Experience**:
Minimum 2 years of previous building maintenance experience in a controlled and regulated environment.

Experience with use of special paints/coating systems such as epoxy resins for touch-up of walls, equipment etc.

**Equivalency**_:_

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
Skills in general repair work - walls, floors, doors, ceiling, drains, plumbing, equipment & facility painting, and yard maintenance. Knowledge and skills in using small hand tools. Good communication skills. Works well in a Team environment. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English language.

**Standards and Expectations**:
Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion. Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines in a proactive manner. Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field.

**Physical Requirements**:
Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, loud noise, bright lights, fumes or odour.
