**Description**:
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Plans and implements research, evaluation, and measurement initiatives ensuring investigation aligns with priority areas and is scientifically sound. Leads a team of analysts and conducts advanced data analysis if needed. Leads, creates, and negotiates the implementation of innovative scientific solutions to complex and diverse issues. Leads or contributes to development of new scientific methodologies and the published literature. Ensures that decision makers understand the evidence that was synthesized and contributes to decisions consistent with evidence. Leads the integration of evidence into practice in collaboration with a team of stakeholders both internal and external. Collaborates across divisions within AHS, with academic institutions and other sectors provincially and nationally. Works collaboratively with a team of other Scientists, an Evaluation Lead, and the Integration and Project Management Leads to ensure integration across all innovation streams. Provide scientific direction and mentoring to research and evaluation associates/assistants to ensure scientific rigor. Participates in strategic and operational planning.

**Required Qualifications**:
A Doctorate degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or health services research, plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience undertaking research in a health-related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience of conducting complex statistical analyzes for epidemiologic and/or health services research and translating evidence for informed decision making. Extensive knowledge and skills of quantitative research methodologies and biostatistical analyses for conducting scientific and epidemiologic investigations. An emerging track record of successful research demonstrated through peer-review publications and research collaborations. A minimum of 3 years in a health care organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience managing multidisciplinary projects that involve multiple stakeholders. Proven ability to liaise with senior leaders in health care, researchers, planners and senior administrators throughout AHS, Universities, Alberta Health and Wellness, and outside agencies and organizations. Strong ability to plan, organize and manage short and long-term plans and projects and deliver customer-focused results.

A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Currently possess or will seek an adjunct position within an academic institution. Leads applied research projects including development of new project ideas (including problem definition and defining study design), analysis of results, and reports on project findings, as well as communication and dissemination of findings to appropriate audiences. Works with other researchers in the field (locally, provincially, nationally) to determine interventions that will have the most impact on cancer prevention. Works collaboratively with the Health Services project team including integration lead, research/evaluation associates, research assistants, and coordinators and works with multidisciplinary teams across the province on the development, implementation and evaluation of CPSI projects. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and multidisciplinary setting.
