Job Summary:
The Manager, Flight Technical, Dash 8 will primarily be responsible for developing and evaluating policies, procedures and technology that improves operational and fuel efficiencies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Maintain and develop relationships with Nav Canada, De Havilland, and other key flight technical partners to give Porter Airlines a strategic technical advantage
- Review, evaluate and propose technology improvements
- Issue directives and notices to the flight crews as required
- Participate in on call duties during non-business hours, rotated through by the Flight Operations management team
- Create CORSIA reporting for the Dash 8 fleet
- Manage technical manuals, including MEL, GADPM and manufacturer aircraft manuals
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy, or as assigned by the Operations Manager
- Assume any responsibilities as delegated by the Chief Pilot, Dash 8 or Operations Manager

Qualifications:

- Active Pilot at Porter Airlines with a thorough understanding of Porter policies and procedures
- Ability to speak publicly and promote Porter Airlines’ flight technical initiatives
- Ability to build and maintain business relationships with key flight technical partners
- Have a reasonable understanding of the Canadian Aviation Regulations
- Embodies and exhibits the Porter values in everyday work
- Post-Secondary education is considered an asset
