The House of Commons' Parliamentary Precinct Operations is currently looking to staff the Messenger position on a part-time basis.

The Messenger provides administrative services, such as receptionist duties, operating a photocopier, fax, collating and stapling documents, distributing documents, inserting material, ensuring adequate stationary supplies, etc, to the Members of Parliament as well as Committees and Special Conferences as assigned. In addition, the Messenger provides urgent and scheduled pick-up and delivery services to and from destinations on and off the Parliamentary Precinct.

The hours of work can vary between 0 to 35 hours from Monday to Friday. The needs are determined according to the parliamentary sessions. Work periods are from mid-September to mid-December, late January to late June. Operational requirements are interrupted during the summer months and between parliamentary sessions.

Hourly Rate: $17.67 to $22.36 (The salary of this position is currently under revision)

**Qualifications** Education**:

- High school diploma or a combination of relevant experience.

**Experience**:

- Experience interacting regularly with people in person and/or over the telephone;
- Knowledge of customer service delivery;
- Ability to use technology.

**Asset**:

- Experience in delivering courier services.
