We are currently looking for a **Maintenance Utilities** team member to join our team.

You will be responsible for garbage collection throughout the plant and disposal, with a strong focus on dust control maintenance, and you will be involved in general preventative maintenance duties.

**This position is scheduled on a rotation and includes both day and evening shifts**:
Days: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm **or** 7:30am to 4:00pm

Evening: Monday to Friday, 12:00noon to 8:30pm **or **4:00 pm to 12:30am

**With the support of Loewen, you will be required to**:

- Obtain Transportation of Dangerous Good certification
- Obtain a Class 3 license with Air endorsement

**In this role, you will be responsible to**:

- Clean assigned work areas and garbage collection of plant
- Wood block management (feeding boiler and grinding blocks, and transportation to and from storage)
- Delivering water to departments within the plant
- Loading of waste barrels and disposal of ashes
- Removal and handling of rag barrels
- Organize/clean up storage areas
- Clean grates in shipping area
- Keep compound clean and orderly
- Assist with snow removal
- Assist in painting, moving, and assembling racking
- Perform and record pre-trip inspections as required in carrying out responsibilities
- Perform dust management cleaning and maintenance
- Maintenance activities and assisting mechanical staff as assigned/required
- Other duties as assigned by managers and maintenance leaders

**You will bring**:

- Positive work experience in current position
- Effective written and oral communication skills, in English
- Ability to read and understand written work orders
- Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment
- Ability to work at heights (scissor lifts, ladders, scaffolding, genie boom, etc)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time
