- ** About the Position**
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Procurement Advisor will work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders, will establish and maintain an efficient, cost-effective, and consistent approach to procurement best practices and legislation.
Please note this role can be based out of Nisku, AB or Calgary, AB
**Your Duties**
- Evaluate risk, assess, prepare forecasts, scenarios and other factors concerning the supply market, and write reports and recommendations
- Ensures all procurement activities are aligned with the purchasing strategy and procurement plan
- Identifies high impact cost reduction opportunities and optimize purchasing activities
- Ensures procurement processes are effective, efficient, and substantiated with evidence of due process and financial controls to facilitate the orderly processing of invoices from vendors/service providers
- Provides procurement information to support management decisions, financial reporting, and audits
- Leverage the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply
- Respond to customer service inquiries and clarify requirements and provide information as needed
- Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards
- Source materials, assets and services in accordance with policies and procedures using cost-effective and ethical approaches and meeting required criteria
- Execute the sourcing process including the request for proposal (RFP) development and issuance, negotiations, contract execution and contract management
- Other ad hoc tasks & projects as required
- Complies with Force Inspection’s Health & Safety program and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
**Your Qualifications**
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related field; a specialization in supply chain management
- Machining experience is an asset
- Highly proficient with Excel (advanced user)
- Experience with Power BI is an asset
- High degree of initiative and ability to work independently
- Proven problem-solving resolution and analytical skills
- Exceptional verbal/written communication skills
