Spirit & Connection builds tradition, creates memories, and fosters school spirit. Sport and Recreation plays a key role in creating a welcoming environment at Western. Sport and Recreation works closely with Western and the local community to make connections, foster goodwill, encourage involvement and school spirit, offer experiential opportunities for students, make a positive impact, deliver spirited programming and events, and encourage collaboration and entrepreneurship. The Mustangs’ brand is a passion point that unifies current students and alumni around the world. Our signature spaces, events, programmes, and teams serve to act as a connection point for Western students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as for external businesses, government, and organizations.

**Responsibilities**:
PURPOSE OF ROLE

Mustangs Athletics is seeking current Western University students to perform as JW the mascot for the upcoming Mustangs season. During games, JW will interact with fans, work closely with promotions teams to execute contests, and take pictures to enhance the overall fan experience. Performers will preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be enthusiastic and high energy
- Interact with fans throughout the game/event
- Collaborate with event lead to create/execute skits
- Administer proper care of the mascot costume
- Ability to take direction and work with others
- Friendly personality and extroverted mannerisms
- Physically capable of performing for the duration of events
- Works well with children in a family-friendly environment
- Highly energetic, athletic and have a performance background

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be available to work evening and weekends
- Attend additional Mustangs events throughout the year

EXPERIENCE:

- No experience is required
