**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the General Manager and Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the general maintenance and upkeep of machinery and equipment and issue recognition, combined with preventative maintenance, with the goal of preventing downtime. The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership for the maintenance team, inclusive of apprentices.

**Responsibilities**:

- To work safely, in compliance with all company SOPs, policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
- To oversee all sawmill, planer and kiln work systems so as to ensure efficient operation, in collaboration with the Superintendent and site supervisors.
- To provide supervision and support for the day-to-day work of the maintenance team, as they:

- renovate and restore existing equipment.
- troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues that arise during shift.
- troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, pumps, compressors and hydraulic systems.
- perform scheduled maintenance on all equipment.
- operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
- fabricate parts required during overhauls.
- To ensure environmental compliance.
- To address concerns directly with the General Manager or Maintenance Superintendent, in a timely manner, and to support problem solving around the concern(s) brought forward.
- To conduct oneself in a manner that contributes to a culturally safe, inclusive and respectful workplace.
- Consistent attendance for scheduled hours of work.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a two-year Industrial Mechanical Millwright College program preferred.
- A minimum of two years Millwright experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, manuals and specifications.
- Experience working in a lumber mill or manufacturing environment considered an asset.
- A minimum of three (3) years relevant experience.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience managing and providing leadership for employee teams.
- Experience working with diverse cultures, including indigenous populations, considered an asset.
- Proficiency in French language considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks, with mínimal supervision.
- An ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and multi-worksite environment.
- Receptive and responsive to receiving direction and supervision.
- Access to a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required.
- An ability to commit to reliable and consistent attendance.
- A strong work ethic.
- An ability to focus in a loud environment, surrounded by lots of activity.
- An ability to climb stairs.
