Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. Based in Victoria, the Operations Manager shall be primarily responsible for the daily technical management and operational performance of KOTUG Canada owned vessels and marine assets, inclusive of the office, warehouse and docking barge facility. These responsibilities include acting as the main point of contact in the dispatch process of the vessels and filling the role of the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) during Emergency Response activities. The Operations Manager will support the development of operations budgets and implement cost management initiatives ongoing.

The Operations Manager shall liaise and act as the primary between the company and all stakeholders as it relates to the daily operations of the vessels. The incumbent shall also be responsible to ensure vessels are operating in accordance with Class Society, Transport Canada, IMS, PPA and all other relevant regulatory and environmental entities as it relates to the vessels scope of operations and manufacturer specifications. While ensuring company standards are adhered to and a strong safety culture is followed, the incumbent will review risk assessments and participate in incident investigations as required,

This role will support crewing operations through participation in employee performance management and inclusive development recommendations while maintaining a proactive networking relationship with the local and seagoing community.

Qualifications and Experience:
**Preferably holds a 1 Class Motor Certificate of Competency combined with 5-10 years’ experience working in the marine industry in a similar role. An equivalent combination of certification, training and experience will be considered.**

**Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in business administration or finance is considered an asset.**

**Must have an extensive understanding of Canadian marine regulations as they relate to the safe operation of the fleet.**

**Previous experience in fleet management, marine/technical operations, planned maintenance and logistics is considered are preferred.**

**Excellent inclusive people management, negotiation and organizational skills are imperative.**

**Computer proficiency with MS Office: Outlook, Word and Excel, combined with previous experience preparing detailed reports (schedule, progress, technical and cost control) is required.**

**Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems is required.**

**Previous project management training or willingness to obtain is a requirement.**

**Experience conducting audits and site inspections is considered an asset.**

**Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations in a tactful and confidential manner.**

**Able to prioritize, organize and manage multiple tasks in a busy, fast paced and changing environment.**

**Demonstrated experience working independently with solid judgement, initiative, problem solving and critical thinking skills.**

**Ability to manage stress and maintain composure during busy periods and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.**

**Must be flexible and willing to work outside of business hours when required.**

**Periodic travel and travel by air is a requirement.**
