Provides a variety of support to researcher(s) in the Faculty of Science.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides a variety of research support such as:

- Reviewing relevant scientific literature.
- Collecting field and/or laboratory samples.
- Analyzing field and/or laboratory samples using laboratory/field analytical equipment.
- Performing statistical analysis of laboratory/field data.
- Compiling results of analyses in data bases.
- Assist with similar research being carried out by other researchers.

REPORTS TO
Dean of Science

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
- Grade 12, plus graduation from a relevant four year science degree program

EXPERIENCE
- Six months' related experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES RELATED TO THE JOB
- Ability to perform analyses using a variety of analytical equipment
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to plan and organize work

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working in laboratory and fields situations as required.
- Standing/sitting for long periods of time
- Travel within BC
