Course Description:
Third Professional Seminar (Secondary)

Curriculum and Instruction: Professional portfolios and competencies will be addressed. Preparation for the third field experience through engaging in the full spectrum of unit/lesson planning, critical analysis and self-reflection. Professional portfolios and competencies will be addressed.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education
- Master’s degree (In exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master's degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered)
- Teaching degree or equivalent, and experience teaching in secondary schools

Experience
- Expert knowledge of course content
- Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP)
- Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation
- Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary/secondary school system
- Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers

Other
- Commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors.
- Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of course start date

Other Information:

- Familiarity using myCourses or similar online platforms
- Familiarity with online platforms such as ZOOM are an asset
- Familiarity with teaching blended classes
- Understandings about equity and diversity issues and how to address these in classrooms
- Technology skills to practice
