**The opportunity**:
This position is responsible for providing technical maintenance support and operational planning for infrastructure assets to enhance performance and reliability. Key tasks include supporting continuous improvement in maintenance systems, conducting asset collection and field inspections, performing equipment and system reviews, and executing condition assessments. The role also involves developing procedures and quality standards, as well as conducting failure analysis. Additionally, the position provides operational support through the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and develops maintenance standards that comply with regulatory requirements, building codes, product specifications, and best practices.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Masters degree in related study area required.
- Engineering Technologist in Mechanical/Electrical fields with direct experience in life cycle maintenance management using asset performance methods, assessments, and programming required.
- Trades background with significant experience in asset maintenance practices in a large organization may be considered (in order of preference).
- Training in lean processes, root cause failure methods, and improvement certifications are considered assets.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in asset maintenance and performance environment is required.
- Thorough working knowledge of building systems, including:

- Mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and controls.
- Building envelope, utilities, and grounds operations.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for managing workflows and reporting on maintenance KPIs required.
- Knowledge of work resource flow systems, record-keeping, forms design, and budgetary/purchasing procedures required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (verbal and written) in English required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Ability to plan and schedule work effectively required.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and architectural blueprints required.
- Competence in estimating material lists and labor requirements required.
- Understanding and operation of shop tools and equipment required.
- Physical fitness to access all areas of the campus, including roofs and crawlspace required.
- Capability to understand and execute written and oral instructions required.
- Ability to maintain reports, records, and provide estimates and documentation required.
- Ability to train employees effectively required.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills required for collaboration with:

- Physical Plant staff, academic staff, students, consultants, and contractors.
- Ability to ensure work is completed efficiently within Collective Agreement constraints required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
