**Cyber Threat Detection Specialist**
If you’ve taken a plane to any destination in the world, chances are, your pilot was trained by CAE. With its strong customer focus, the CAE team is dedicated to elevating the training experience to make pilots the best they can be.
**Your mission**
The Cyber Threat Detection Specialist will work collaboratively to develop, test and maintain methods of detecting malicious behaviour.
**Your main role and responsibilities**
- Understand and utilize a variety of log sources (EDR, Network, Cloud)
- Develop complex queries to enable reliable detection of threats
- Translate real-time threat intelligence into actionable detection logic
- Contribute to the Incident Response process by providing in-depth documentation for every detection
- Support the security team by contributing to the resolution of computer security incidents
- Assist in the study of vendors and technology for network and desktop security to determine those which best meet the needs of the organization
- Serve as an expert technical resource, to advise and assist in security issues, both proactively and reactively
- Collaborate with multiple cross-functional IT teams as well as non-IT business units as required
- Other activities as they relate to improving the firm’s posture towards cybersecurity
**Your qualifications**
- At least 4+ years in a Security Operations role.
- Experience in search query languages such as KQL (Sentinel) and SPL (Splunk)
- Deep knowledge of Operating Systems, Network infrastructure and IT Security solutions
- An understanding of typical threat actor TTPs
- Working knowledge of SIEM, SOAR and incident management platforms
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell)
- Demonstrated experience developing incident run books
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills - ability to coordinate and develop communication outside the team
- Proactive, accountable, self-directed, humble and solution oriented
- Strong critical thinking and analysis skills
- Must be a self-starter, strong sense of initiative.
