Applications are currently being accepted for a full-time (35-hours/week) **temporary (2-year project)** **Program Manager.**

Job Purpose:
To provide program management and ensure quality assurance of the Apprenticeship Program, which provides financial incentives and supports to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the Greater Toronto Area to hire first year apprentices in 1 or more of the 39 construction and manufacturing Red Seal trades, with a focus on equity-deserving groups. This position facilitates the delivery of high quality services that meet the needs of clients, follows the directives of the funder, and achieves the goals and objectives of the Agency.

Job Responsibilities:

- Implement and manage the Apprenticeship Program
- Manage program staff
- Liaise with external service providers and partner organizations
- Manage client service data collection and reporting systems
- Ensure staff compliance with Agency policies and procedures
- Conduct outreach to identify opportunities and prompt job matching and placement support
- Where necessary, provide workplace safety training and information on accommodation needs
- Provide sensitivity training to SMEs to bring awareness on diversity, prepare them in welcoming a diverse population of apprentices, support them in creating respectful workplaces, and identify and communicate opportunities that exist for career development for equity-deserving groups
- Facilitate work opportunities and negotiation of employment relationships on behalf of clients including placement agreements and contracts with individuals and employers that include training objectives and commitments and financial incentives
- Develop a training plan with the employer and the participant and negotiate the incentive as appropriate
- Ensure targets are met or exceeded
- Administer contracts with employers, including the timely processing and payment of financial incentives
- Provide career exploration, identification and clarification of interests, abilities, skills, education and experience in relation to short and long term employment goals in a group or individual setting
- Provide counselling and coaching in life skills that supports successful employment participation
- Support mentoring and coaching during the job search process
- Provide financial support to remove barriers to participation
- Perform other duties as assigned, for Team or Agency

Key Qualifications:

- University degree in a related field combined with certification with Career Professionals of Canada and/or membership in a relevant professional association
- 5 years of progressive management of service development and delivery for a not-for-profit organization
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation
- Demonstrated ability to manage services and the development of new service needs
- Current knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations including the privacy act
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Accounting Software
- Demonstrated experience with budget management
- As there may be a remote component to this job, the ability to work from home consisting of a safe and private home office setting and the necessary technical equipment and high-speed Internet access for remote work
- Familiarity with virtual work platforms
- Demonstrated efforts for continuous learning and development.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and regular access to a vehicle are required.
- Additional language(s) an asset
- Flexibility to work from a variety of locations
- Ability to work days/evenings/week-ends
