**Job Description**:
The Manager, Finance is responsible for the coordination, review and/or preparation of internal and external corporate financial reporting, external audit, and other financial analysis, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements such as GAAP, Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), MIS reporting, Broader Public Sector Directives and financial policies. This includes managing a team of accountants, as well as outsourced accounts payable and payroll functions (financial reporting). The Manager is also responsible to identify, lead and/or coordinate process improvement initiatives or internal control enhancements and participate on committees as required. The Manager will also assist the Director, Finance in supporting the Regional Finance Team.

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business/commerce
- CPA Designation required

**Experience**:

- Minimum five (5) years of financial analyst/senior accountant experience
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Experience with control processes and systems
- Experience with planning and executing projects and process improvement initiatives
- Experience with public sector accounting standards, non-profit accounting and ministry standards.
- MOH/OH reporting and MIS guidelines and Meditech knowledge

Competencies:

- Considered a resource with a strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”), specifically Public Sector Accounting Standards (“PSAS”), MOH/OHRS reporting requirements, Broader Public Sector Directives
- Effective, collaborative, and proven process improvement skills, and ability to ensure appropriate controls are implemented and effective
- Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to interact within all levels of the organization
- Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges, while multi-tasking and delgating work within various deadlines
- Ability to supervise and deal with all aspects of staffing

Other:
**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for management of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy of financial transactions and reporting
- Coordination, review and/or preparation of internal and external corporate financial reporting, including monthly reporting to EVP & CFO, quarterly hospital reporting, provincial consolidation schedules, and other ad hoc internal and external reporting or analysis
- Lead / Coordination of the year-end reporting process and the external audit; planning and communicating timelines for completion, managing activities of staff including the review and approval of audit working papers.
- Manage and oversee outsourced payables and payroll functions (financial reporting)
- Identify, lead, or coordinate process improvement initiatives or internal control deficiencies/enhancements
- Provide guidance to the Regional Finance team who supports partner hospitals with financial modules.
- Responsible for monitoring employee performance, preparing / delivering employee performance conversations, and mentoring / coaching activities.
- Maintain positive business relationships with both internal and external colleagues, partners and customers
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Director, Finance including analyzing data, forecasting, responding to surveys, leading projects, participating on committees, etc.
