Transportation Operations Manager

Corman Park, Canada Alpine Transport and Rigging Full time

Alpine Transport and Rigging is a locally owned and operated transport company based out of Saskatoon, SK. We are proudly part of the Prairie Crane Group of Companies, and are looking for a highly motivated individual to take on the role of Operations Manager of a growing transport fleet. We are continuously updated our equipment to better serve our clients and currently offer flat deck and heavy haul transport up to 10 axle loads.

**Duties**:

- Work closely with our Dispatcher to oversee day-to-day operations and coordination of all loads
- Oversee and assist with permitting as required
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards
- Oversee and assist with maintaining accurate records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and fuel usage, scale tickets, etc.
- Oversee and assist with cross border requirements
- Maintain client relationships and follow up on jobs
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
- Manage a fleet of vehicles, including scheduling maintenance and repairs with our in-house mechanic division
- Monitor driver performance and provide coaching or training as needed
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in transportation technology

Qualifications:

- Past experience with heavy haul transport
- Valid Class 1 drivers license
- Knowledge of Saskatchewan transport regulations at a minimum
- Knowledge and ability to obtain permits
- Proven experience in transportation management or a similar role
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with drivers, team members, and stakeholders
- Knowledge in use of Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with drivers, team members, and stakeholders.
- Organization: Excellent organizational skills to coordinate logistics, manage schedules, and maintain accurate records.
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues or challenges that may arise during transportation operations.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
