**Role and Responsibilities**:

- This job will range from operation a dump truck, operating a mini excavator, operating a directional boring machine, and operating a Vacuum Excavator.
- Safely operate boring machine on various job sites in Ontario.
- In conjunction with locator, operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and/or duct.
- Able to operate the drill as required.
- Follow all safety guidelines.
- Assist with other fibre optic construction projects as needed.
- The employee may be required to assist laborers during periods when not actively operating equipment.
- All other duties as required.

**Responsible for the day-to-day duties on site**:

- Valid AZ or ARZ Driver’s License with a clean CVOR and drivers abstract.
- Minimum 5 years experience in the telecommunications industry,
- Minimum 2 years experience operating a mini excavator/dump truck combo. This includes supporting a directional boring crew, excavating splice pits, excavation of locate pits, restoring and backfilling sites back to original condition.
- Minimum 2 years experience with Book7 and able to setup work zone site in a safe and timely manner.
- Minimum 2 years experience with operating a Ditch Witch directional boring machine with includes operating or locating.
- Minimum 2 years experience operating a Hydro Vacuum excavator with includes driving vehicle to site, excavating locate pits, bore pits, dumping waste and maintaining the vehicle while keeping it clean.
