Jones Kopp Litigation Partners LLP is looking to add a junior insurance defence lawyer to our growing team. We are a firm specializing in insurance defence and known for providing superior service to our insurer and self-insured clients. Areas of practice include tort claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, commercial general liability, professional negligence, tavern liability, occupier’s liability, subrogation, and professional regulatory matters, as well as accident benefits claims.

**Skills**:

- Strong organization, communication, and negotiation skills. The ability to work effectively with legal support staff including legal assistants, law clerks, and administrative support employees.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with others and to build successful client relationships with a service first mentality.
- Competency with drafting pleadings, research and analysis, conducting discoveries and preparing for and conducting mediations and all litigation steps up to and including trial
- Experience in assessing and handling Accident Benefits files would be highly preferred, though willingness to learn will be considered an asset.
- Experience in attending LAT case conferences would be considered an asset.
- 1-4 years post-call experience working in an Ontario Insurance Defence law firm.

**Required**:

- A member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Ability to periodically travel throughout Ontario as required
