Role Description

This is a contract Associate Lawyer role at demers.law in Toronto, ON. The Associate Lawyer will be responsible for handling legal matters, conducting research, drafting legal documents, providing counsel to clients, and representing clients in court, under Demers' supervision. The role involves working on-site at the firm's office in Toronto's financial district. This role is not salaried. The Associate Lawyer will bill time on files at an agreed upon rate and receive payment accordingly. Demers will initially bear the costs for office space and amenities. Exact terms to be agreed.


Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Existing book of business and prospective clients
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school
  • Membership in the Law Society of Ontario
