**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Economic Development, the Communications & Graphic Design Specialist will play a key role in supporting and advancing the communication efforts and initiatives of the Town of The Blue Mountains. Working collaboratively with the Communications and Economic Development team, this role will contribute to various tasks associated with corporate communications. The primary goal is to achieve high-performance outcomes by executing comprehensive communication projects and initiatives within a collaborative environment.

**What you will need**:

- Completion of a three-year college diploma in a related discipline (Communications or Graphic Design) or an equivalent blend of post-secondary education and relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated 2 to 3 years of experience, or an equivalent mix of education and related experience, preferably within a public sector setting, aligning with the responsibilities outlined in the job posting.
- Proficiency in public relations and/or communications, encompassing writing, editing, and proofreading.
- Proficient experience in graphic design utilizing Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, or similar software for the creation, layout, and production of both print and digital communication materials.
- Demonstrated familiarity with printing processes and the preparation of press-ready files.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort in presenting and public speaking.
- Requires excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Ability to work well with people at all levels and to handle the stresses and pressures that are associated with the position with maturity and a positive attitude.
- Highly developed problem-solving skills, along with the capacity to organize, manage shifting priorities, multitask, and operate autonomously.
- Basic knowledge of general office/administrative tasks.
- Familiarity with municipal government operations, legislation, and regulations is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and courteously with the public, staff, and officials at all levels while maintaining confidentiality.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in response to changing circumstances.

**What we offer**:
This is a 13-month contract opportunity at the Town. The hourly rate for this role is **$32.93 to $38.52 (2024 Rate).** The Town also offers the following to our employees:
