Posi on Overview

Repor ng to the Manager, Health Promo on and Community Development Services (HPCDS), the primary role will be to provide support with our Indigenous team. Including, administra ve and coordina on ac vi es include scheduling, providing liaison, logis cs and administra ve support for Indigenous-relevant ini a ves/ac vi es as directed by the HPCDS manager. Support Indigenous Case Workers with client case conferencing and intakes.

Key Responsibili es
- Ac vely contributes to developing and maintaining a welcoming environment for Carea clients and our community by demonstra ng a non-judgmental, respec ul and accep ng approach to client care - whether mee ng clients face-to-face or speaking to clients by telephone.
- Assist with Indigenous programs and events.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills for our internal and external clients, community partners and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work or drive to mee ngs at any of Carea’s loca ons in our service area, as required.
- Ac vely maintain awareness and understanding of Carea programs and services.
- Day-to-day du es of the Program Support include: responding to client and community ques ons, internal and external agency room bookings, registering new clients, upda ng and ensuring that client Electronic Health Record (EHR) is accurate and up-to-date (e.g., scanning, faxing, photocopying, mail distribu on and filing are completed in an accurate and mely manner).
- Provide support with HPCDS programs and ini a ves as required.
- Ac vely lead, par cipate and/or partner on internal and external projects or commi ees as assigned. This could include par cipa on in various opera onal ini a ves and ac vi es designed to improve team effec veness and overall workplace success.
- Par cipate in other Carea CHC staff training ac vi es and team/staff mee ngs as requested.

Qualifica ons
- Two (2) years relevant administra on/coordina ng experience, preferably working within programs/services support and in a community health services se ng.
- Proven communica on, conflict resolu on and nego a on skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven research support, planning and risk management skills within an administra ve capacity.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Strong knowledge of issues affecting marginalized communities.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience liaising with diverse agencies/community networks and working successfully in partnership with these agencies thorough knowledge and understanding of the local health and social service sector, government programs and current legislation that may affect clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to anticipate potential problems/conflicts, exercise discretion and confidentiality, and take appropriate actions to meet deadlines
