**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Central East Regional Indigenous Cancer Program is offering a full-time summer student position to assist with improving access to Indigenous culturally appropriate palliative care supports. Working alongside the Indigenous Cancer Team, the summer student will help to develop an environmental scan of available palliative care supports in the Central East Region of Ontario, will conduct interviews, interpret qualitative data, and develop resources that can be shared with Indigenous Communities and Community partners. There will be an opportunity to attend and help coordinate cultural events, training sessions, and information/knowledge gathering events, as well as helping to plan and attend a Community-based symposium on Indigenous approaches to palliative care in the fall.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
" Undergraduate/post-graduate student with an interest in Indigenous health, social sciences, or palliative care.
" Lived experience and knowledge of the value of Indigenous health practices, understanding of holistic health, knowledge of local Indigenous Nations, community engagement, and cultural protocols, is preferred.
" Knowledge of Indigenous history, culture, and Traditional Teachings is considered an asset.
" Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research is an asset.
" Experience working with or in Indigenous Communities is strongly preferred.
" Comfortable with conducting interviews and writing reports.
" Ability to attend some in-person events across the Central East Region of Ontario is required.
" Understanding of the Social Determinants of Indigenous Health is an asset.
" Understanding of Indigenous Research Methods is an asset.
