Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in South Korea in 1991. After 5 years, we obtained consultative status with the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC). Good Neighbors Canada launched in March 2017 in London, Ontario, and is now also based in Toronto. Under the Good Neighbors’ international governance, we focus on fundraising, volunteer programs, and global development campaigns to support field projects.

Good Neighbors Canada is presently responding to the ongoing humanitarian crisis affecting Ukraine. We have been fundraising to provide international emergency relief, and are now at the point of transitioning to also provide domestic support to refugees who are resettling in Canada.

**Role**

The Refugee Family Case Manager is responsible for providing tailored support to each refugee family supported by Good Neighbors Canada; in the build-up to the move and for the ongoing provision of support once families have safely arrived in our country. In this way, the Refugee Family Case Manager will contribute to the implementation of this significant project by supporting the safe relocation and readjustment of refugee families fleeing war and beginning a new life in Canada.
10-20 hours per week. 6 month initial contract term with the possibility of an extension.

**Reimbursement**

This role will be reimbursed at a rate of $18 per hour.

**Reports to Project Manager.**

**TASKS**
- Liaise with donors who have volunteered to provide short-term housing for refugee families; assess housing conditions, provide information to host families on what to expect, provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the duration of the refugee families’ stay.
- Coordinate the provision of regular funding to the families to cover the cost of the refugee families’ food and basic essentials whilst living with their host family.
- Liaise with refugee families prior to their move to Canada and coordinate the matching of refugee and host families.
- Act as a single point of contact for refugee and host families’ concerns and questions before and throughout the duration of the accommodation provision.
- Assist with various projects and correspondence leading up to refugee families’ move to Canada.
- Assist with planning pre-move documentation for refugee families and Canadian sponsors.
- Liaise with key partner organizations including our partner immigration agency and other Good Neighbors agencies.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Essential**:

- Demonstrable experience working in resettlement or social services.
- Understanding of the sensitive nature of this work, necessity of respect and provision of support through a trauma-informed lens, and a high regard for confidentiality procedures.
- Keen interest in supporting individuals affected by humanitarian crises.
- Ability to commit to work up to 20 hours per week.
- Access to own vehicle and current valid drivers licence. (GNCA will reimburse mileage as per Canada Revenue Agency standards).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under and comply with continuous and multiple deadlines and evolving priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, experience with data base systems.
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and to respond effectively when external factors cause schedules to change.
- *Ability to travel to GNCA’s Toronto office and to work remotely where required.

**Desirable**:

- Fluent in Ukrainian and/or Russian language.
- Experience in liaison with individuals for whom English is a second language.
- Experience working in connecting vulnerable individuals to community sources of support within Ontario.
