**Job Title**: Warehouse Associate
**Reports to**: General Manager, Retail Operations or designate
**Position Summary**:
The Warehouse Associate is the front line and public face of the Habitat for Humanity ReStores. You project professionalism and welcome donors and the community - both in person and by phone. Your contribution to the donor experience begins with the receipt of donations, and continues through testing, processing, and pricing of goods. Your day will be a continuous bustle of physical activity, marked by frequent interruptions and shifting priorities, all aimed at appreciating our donors, satisfying our customers, and allowing the Habitat for Humanity ReStores to be a major contributor to Habitat for Humanity’s mission to provide affordable homeownership for hard-working families. **Principal Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Adhere to established Donor Experience guidelines and processes, including screening donated goods for suitability.
- Provide positive, professional interactions with donors at all times.
- Decline unsuitable donated goods tactfully, while preserving the goodwill of the donor.
- Assist in taking calls for donations in accordance with Donor Experience process.
- Process, test, and price goods for movement to the sales floor.
- Provide support with general housekeeping tasks.
- Assist ReStore Truck Driver with merchandise pick-up or drop-off as needed.
- Assist in loading and unloading merchandise from customer’s vehicles and ReStore vehicle.
- Maintain a high standard for cleanliness, neatness, functionality, and overall presentation of the facility.
- Process daily point-of-sale (cash register or POS) transactions as needed, including cash and credit card transactions.
- Implement policies and procedures as specified and undertake other related duties as identified by the General Manager, Retail Operations or delegate.
**Health & Safety**:
- Understands and consistently demonstrates HFHPEH's standards and code of conduct.
- Report suspicious activity to General Manager, Retail Operations or delegate.
- Ensure occupational health and safety guidelines are followed at all times including reporting all incidents and hazards to the General Manager, Retail Operations or delegate.
**Skills**:
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, other staff members and volunteers (both verbally and in writing)
- Takes initiative with a positive attitude and has a willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend the day on your feet in a busy environment.
- Adaptability to changing priorities.
**Experience / Education**:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment an asset
**Other**:
- Clear Criminal Background Check required
