The Financial Specialist develops, refines and maintains financial reporting systems to ensure compliance with Ministry of Health (MOH) requirements. The Financial Specialist provides analysis, interpretation and reports related to the hospital’s financial and statistical data (actual dollars spent) in comparison with Ministry of Health data (submitted budget dollars). They provide advice to hospital senior management regarding variances of significant operational and financial impact, as well as reviewing proposed business plans from department management.
Regular Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $43.04 per hour - $53.80 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hour a week
**Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finanace or related discipline
- Canadian Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation Mandatory
- Minimum three (3) years of recent, related experience
- Ability to synthesize innovative approaches to data analysis, interpretation and communication
- Ability to define the information and analysis needs of hospital leaders and Ministry officials
- Knowledge of Ministry of Health hospital reporting requirements and standards
- Demonstrated excellence in quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluation
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with all levels of staff
- Advanced ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively and to deal with stress in a manner that promotes a positive and professional work environment
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
**Immunization Requirements**:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
