**The opportunity**:
The Research Coordinator’s position can be split into two primary roles:
1) Scientific Project Lead: The Coordinator will take a lead role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of several research projects. Their role is to ensure that projects are scientifically sound (i.e. aligning with existing evidence, building upon relevant knowledge/literature, and publishable). They will review relevant literature and existing knowledge to develop research tools and protocols. They will be responsible for developing evaluation platforms and ensuring that evaluation is conducted appropriately (providing guidance to data collection staff as needed). They will use existing qualitative and quantitative research skills to evaluate project findings and analyze data. In the case of the SOARR quality improvement project, the Coordinator will be expected to summarize findings from the smaller pilot and, based on these findings, develop revised protocols and evaluation plans for the full intervention. They will provide recommendations to the research team on project direction based on scientific needs and rigor. The Coordinator will document all research activities in a detailed manner and take the lead on protocol paper development.

2) Knowledge Translation (KT) Lead: The Coordinator will be responsible for leading knowledge translation activities for the SOARR program. This includes organizing all work related to academic publications, from formation of initial paper ideas to journal submission (i.e. managing timelines and ensuring realistic milestones exist; organizing meetings with researchers and contracted writing staff; reviewing existing literature; preparing manuscript drafts and editing based on P.I. feedback; researching journal options and making informed suggestions to the author team; processing submissions, etc.) It is expected that this individual will coauthor several publications each year. In addition to academic publications the Coordinator will take a lead role in preparing reports (i.e. as required by the funder), and potentially grants. The Coordinator will also take a lead role in organizing iKT workshops and events from the scientific standpoint. For example in late 2024 it is anticipated that the SOARR program will host a large multi-day workshop with decision makers, researchers, and stakeholders from the continuing care sector. The Coordinator will take a lead role in planning this event to ensure it is successful (i.e. that the results shared are accurate and relevant; that the “story” presented is valuable from both a scientific and local-priority perspective; and that it paves the way for future planning).

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing support to the Program Manager and P.I. in the development and delivery of materials to the SOARR Executive Advisory Board and Operations Group; assisting in making arrangements for virtual and in-person research meetings; communicating with various researchers and stakeholders to arrange meetings; and to assist generally as needed with the various projects.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Master's degree in related discipline required.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience.
- Academic publication experience required.
- Ability to conduct research independently is required. - Ability to plan, organize and administer large-scale research projects is required. - Ability to lead publication development and writing is required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required

**Why the University of Manitoba?**

Along with being one of Manitoba’s top employers, we are proud to provide a collaborative and enriching work environment. In addition to a strong compensation package with a competitive salary, the University provides an exceptional workplace that includes:

- Comprehensive group benefits and pension plan.
