**HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER**

Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for partnering with their assigned client group to provide a full range of HR services and solutions including advice and guidance to employees and management across multiple human resources services and programs and enable the successful delivery of progressive and proactive human resources programs and solutions. They maintain an effective level of knowledge about the departments’ functional areas and their needs, so they can deliver service, support, and guidance to management and employees that reflects the College’s strategic goals. T The HRBP is responsible for formulating partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that further support the objectives of the organization.

What you’ll do at OCP
- Manage all key aspects of the talent cycle for designated departments, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, onboarding, performance management, internal movement, offboarding etc.
- Partner with Managers and Leads in designated client groups to develop and implement HR strategies, maintain employee relations, advise on ways to build and maintain cohesive teams
- Provide managers/leads with guidance and coaching to get the best from their teams, work with them to address performance issues. Act as a valuable resource by providing expertise, guidance, and advice in all areas of functions of human resources including performance management, recruitment and retention, training and development, compensation and benefits, legislative compliance, etc.
- Works with the Manager, HR in the development. implementation and maintenance of HR specific programs, policies and procedures as required.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the HRIS through regular validation and audits and provide training and support to the organization on the system.
- Provide input and support in the development/administration of the College’s pension and benefits programs
- Contribute and participate to the overall benefit and pension plan administration and provide employees with benefits and pension information as required.
- Identifies and leverages relevant data for recommendations, and/or analyzing trends and proactively addresses areas of need, such as in turnover, absenteeism, etc. Creates and maintain departmental KPIs.
- Interprets metrics and to identify patterns and extract insight where possible
- Provide guidance and support to client groups on employee relation issues, including disciplinary actions and conflict resolutions and escalating to the Manager, HR when needed.

- Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation; Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, AODA and best practices around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Strong HR & Business acumen, including problem-solving skills, critical thinking, professional demeanor, and attitude
- Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the College goals
- Team oriented with a collaborative mindset skilled at building relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience coaching employees and management through difficult issues
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills in Windows environment with experience using HRIS systems
- Tact and diplomacy with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively and independently juggle competing priorities with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build trust and relationships with staff
- Progressive, forward thinking, flexible and adaptable
- High degree of sensitivity, discretion and confidentiality
- Self-motivation and solid organizational skills to efficiently and effectively manage workload, deal effectively with multiple demands and maintain composure while progressing toward desired outcomes

What experience we prefer
- Must have 5 - 7 years of related progressive HR experience in a Senior HR Generalist or Business Partner role
