**University Health Network (UHN)** is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of **Principal, Commercialization Investment Programs** in our **Commercialization at UHN** Department.

We are looking for a Principal, Commercialization Investment Programs to drive and expand UHN’s first in Canada in-house funding programs, which are critical to our strategic goal of accelerating the commercial success of our most promising innovations and clinical capabilities, in support of UHN’s commitment to Creating a Healthier World.

**Funding Commercialization at UHN**

UHN has a unique technology incubation model which provides significant in-house funding to help early-stage technologies advance to the point of commercialization readiness, helping our top-tier science convert into products and treatments with potential to impact patients world-wide.

This model is currently executed by Commercialization at UHN with support from the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation via the Princes Margaret Cancer Centre Innovation Acceleration Fund (IAF), and has allowed our oncology technologies and start-ups to gain the confidence and investments of major industry partners. Without this critical internal de-risking mechanism enabled by this commercialization fund, UHN innovations with potential patient impact risk unrealized potential.

As a critical element of our Commercialization Lives Here strategy, our IAF in-house commercialization funding program will be expanding, under your leadership, across the entire organization. This expansion will include exciting opportunities for clinical acceleration through in-house access to first-in-human studies, for both our proprietary technologies, as well as those of other organizations through a risk-sharing engagement (via UHN’s clinical acceleration program). This new Commercialization Impact Fund (CIF) will be the marquee commercialization platform for the clinical acceleration, de-risking and partnering off the most commercially-relevant technologies in the Toronto biotech ecosystem.

In your role as **Principal, Commercialization Investment Programs,** you will provide leadership and accountability in ensuring success in three main areas: the delivery, the expansion, the coordination of UHN’s commercialization funding programs:

- You will be responsible for ongoing success of funding program delivery, currently the Princess Margaret IAF, including leading the operational management and execution of regular calls for proposals within active programs.
