Accessing mental health, substance use health, and addiction services in Ontario is challenging. The provincial government has made it a priority to develop regional coordinated access models as part of its 2020 Roadmap to Wellness plan. SJHH in partnership with Ontario Health West and regional stakeholders will design a regional coordinated access service for ambulatory mental health and addictions in the Ontario West Region. Regional Coordinated Access (RCA) will provide patients with one point of entry to access mental health and addiction care across the region.
The Psychologist will be a key member of the Regional Coordinated Access Design Team that is responsible for designing and planning RCA. The Psychologist will be responsible for working with a variety of stakeholders, decision support analysts, digital experts, and clinical professionals (e.g. SW, RP, OT, RN) to support project activities, including clinical workflow and process design, and development of screening, triaging and assessment tools/processes. The Psychologist will work closely with the clinical team to develop an efficient and client centred screening/assessment process that ensures effective dispositioning and care planning, as well as establishes a stepped care continuum. The psychologist takes a leadership role in education, clinical training and other academic activities within the program including coordinating all program evaluation activities and measurement-based care outcome monitoring. The Psychologist will participate in various advisory and working groups and act as a resource to the RCA team and RCA partners within the Ontario West region to support program design and timely achievement of deliverables. The psychologist practices within the scope of declared competencies registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
