Calgary, Canada KLS Earthworks Full time

KLS Earthworks & Environmental is hiring a Sr. Project Manager. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for total project delivery, execution and monitoring to ensure safety compliance, scheduling and profitability.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Setup and start projects including coordination with building departments, government regulatory bodies, engineers, architects and other consultants
- Manage closeout of projects, ensuring completion and resolution of any outstanding construction or client issues
- Conduct or attend site meetings
- Create, manage and maintain job schedules using Microsoft Project
- Liaison with clients, subtrades and suppliers for scheduling, coordination and pricing
- Manage client billings, approvals and expedite change order approvals
- Review of estimate and job costs
- Assist with the evaluation of sub-trade pricing and negotiate sub-contract price
- Investigate potential high-risk situations, provide solutions to the best interest of the project and company
- Ensure all team members have read and understood project objectives, including project specifications / agreements and head contract requirements.
- Develop cost saving methods
- Communicate with project coordinators and field staff
- Establish and monitor construction work schedules including “look ahead” schedules
- Lead handover meetings of newly assigned projects

Qualifications:

- Experience in acquiring City of Calgary permits and indemnifications would be an asset
- Experience in temporary shutdown and public notifications would be an asset
- 5-7 years of leadership experience within the construction industry
- 5+ years with direct experience working in earthworks construction
- Proven track record of successful project management of major earthworks construction projects
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and ensure work prioritization to achieve them
- Strong critical thinking, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with multiple levels of ownership
- Ability to work long hours with some weekends and overtime
- Knowledge of Heavy Job and Vista Viewpoint an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point & Schedule)
- Strong attention to detail
